  Oh, what a beautiful day! Not only did I start my new job and celebrated a fantastic birthday but what I'm about to post simply puts the cherry on top!!!

  I'm actually convinced that there's still room for improvement ... especially if you consider that these scores where obtained on air and after only a couple of minutes of fiddling!!!

  I submit the following scores as a final effort before Bio starts making backflips ... If I ever improve on these it will only be by a very small margin. I need watercooling or something drastic before I will see any dramatic improvements.

  So my GT arrived yesterday and obviously I decided to check out some performance figures for myself ... unfortunately I can't OC my PC as I used to simply because of the heat and the fact that I sold my TRUE recently and I'm running stock cooling at the moment (H20 coming soon!)
  
  I also don't know how 3dmark scores differ between XP and Vista but this is the result I achieved in 3DMark06
  
  CPU -- Q6600 @ 3200 (400x8)
  GPU -- 8800GT @ 700/1732/1000
  RAM -- Crucial Ballistix @ 800 (3-3-3-8)
  O/S -- Microsoft Vista 32-bit
  
  
  
  As you can see the SM scores are much higher than before but unfortunately my CPU score is holding me back slightly ... Oh, I couldn't run 3DMark 05 because it kept on crashing in Vista
  
  So ja, all I can say is I'm pretty happy with the performance ... especially if you consider the fact that this card cost me a R1000 less than what I sold my GTS 640 for!!! !moon

  Here's the scores for my media center PC, It has the 2.0GHz allendale C2D, 1 GB 800MHz DDR2, and my new GT with a slight factory overclock of 650MHz core and 1900MHz effective memory. This was on XP, I'll install Vista next weekend and upload scores with that. I'm planning on putting in another 1GB RAM and the new wolfdale 3.0GHz 45nm processor with a new MoBo.... maybe in the next month i'll have money again to spend on it.

  I ran the 06 test twice and it gave me like 9100 points the first time? Dropped 200 points for the second test :( But I didn't get the screenie of it, so i'll just go with the 8896 for now.
